Dear Editor,
Recently we have had a discussion about whether senior students should take their cell-phones. Sixty percent of them think senior students shouldn’t take cell phones to school. As they lack self control, it is easy for them to play games on cell phones if they have one in hand, which has great negative effect on their studies and eyesight. What’s more, cell phones as well as using them that are costly will bring extra economic burden to their parents.
The other forty percent students consider it beneficial to take cell phones with them. In their opinion, it’s very convenient to get in touch with their families and friends by using cell phones, especially when some emergencies happen. In addition, some of its advanced functions can provide a lot of convenience for our studies, such as searching for information, setting alarm clock.
From my point of view,I am in favor of the former idea that senior students shouldn’t take cell phones to school. School is a place for students to concentrate on study, where any bad influence should be avoided. If we really need cell phones to contact, we can borrow it form our teachers.
Best wishes

Dear Editor,
I am Li Hua, a student of Senior One. English is one of my favorite subject, but after I entered Senior High School, I find it isn’t as easy as before. There are many difficulties in the way.
First of all, the vocabulary is much larger than before and some of them are very complex, which takes me a lot of time to remember the new words. What’s more, the differences between American English and British English always confuse me, such as spelling, pronunciation. Moreover, grammar is another problem to me, because the teacher seldom taught us grammar in Junior High School. Therefore, when some grammar items are mentioned in class, I am really at sea. As is known to us, English plays an important part in College Entrance Exam, I am concerned about my result about it and eager to get your help and guidance. I will appreciate it if you can give me your sincere advice .
I am looking forward to your early reply.
Best wishes! Yours, Li Hua

Dear Liu Jie
How are you recently? I have studied in Yucai High school as a freshman for a month and I can not wait to share my feelings with you.
Our school is like a large garden. There are all kinds of beautiful flowers and trees. Our school is really an ideal place to live and study in. Besides, there are so many friendly classmates and hard-working teachers, so I feel very happy. However, I have difficulty with math at present. I seldom ask my teacher and classmates math questions, because I’m afraid they will laugh at me. If it continues like this, I’ll fail the exams and fall behind others. Can you give me some advice about it?
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes!
Bob Green,
I’m glad to read your letter and I’d like to be your pen friend. I’m Li Ming, aged 16, and I’m studying at Guangming Middle School. At school we have Chinese, maths, English, physics, chemistry and P.E. lessons. After school in the afternoon, we usually have sports and games. In the evening we do our lessons at school. We are busy but happy. In addition, our teachers are kind to us as well as strict with us. With their help, we have made great progress. We are proud of our school.
Would you please tell me something about your family and your school? I do hope we will become good friends.
Please write to me soon.
